Dutch Light

During the summer of 2018, I was blessed with a spacious garden, prompting me to undertake a flower-growing endeavour for this project. Drawing inspiration from the renowned Flemish and Dutch still-life masters, I created a series of photographic artworks. Using softboxes in my studio, I meticulously captured each composition of flowers. I aimed to intrigue viewers by infusing a touch of the unexpected into every still life. Interestingly, the most frequent comment I received was: "I adore your photos, but what's with the plastic?"

I took that as a huge compliment. Because: Art is to disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed.
